Use of Voice Assistants in Healthcare
Voice assistants are becoming an integral part of our everyday life, and new voice tech already has many useful applications. The best part is that these applications solve problems of the elderly, physically challenged, and other people with special needs.
Voice Tech for Senior Living Communities

Senior living providers and organizations bring voice assistance to their residents and scale voice solutions to make them congruent with their needs. Voice-first enhancements are built upon existing Smart Home capabilities at the communities that enable residents to turn on and off lights, adjust their thermostat, call the front desk, ask for the events of the day, and many other things.
Google Assistant for Good Challenge
NeMO Clinical Center takes care of those who are affected by neuromuscular diseases: ordinary people with ordinary needs, but sometimes with different ways to satisfy them and fewer physical opportunities available to do so. Through the application of Google Assistant technology, they hope to address some of the challenges that negatively affect people with neuromuscular disorders and make their life a little bit easier.
Dementia Caregiving

As voice assistants make their way through homes, it is imperative that they have greater purposes than just telling us the weather or the time. They can play a huge role in assisting people with dementia and those that care for them. Planning diaries, reminders, information access, and contact with family members — voice assistants make it much easier for people with this horrible brain illness. They help them to stay physically, emotionally, and mentally healthy when dealing with dementia.
Identifying Groceries for Blind People
This September Amazon launched a new skill called Show and Tell in order to help the visually impaired identify groceries and other household items. Alexa can identify boxes, cans, or other packaged items that are hard to identify by touch alone.
Alice to Calm Down

Russian voice assistant Alice is famous for her chit-chat feature and ability to talk on different subjects. Besides the possibility to ease depression and loneliness, she can also help to overcome panic attacks and anxiety disorders. There’s also a skill that provides info on the glycemic index for any product and a skill that will help with a mole check to prevent melanotic cancer.
Virtual Immortality

Can you imagine becoming an immortal virtual being after death? Future generations will be able to interact with their departed loved ones using voice-enabled devices, asking them questions, eliciting stories, and drawing upon a lifetime’s worth of advice long after their physical body is gone.
Easy Learning

It’s never too late to start learning. Since October 2019, all learners can access course assignment and quiz scores, due dates, and progress updates by simply asking Alexa. This is one of the first skills for Amazon Alexa from an online learning platform.
Inspiration Engine

In case you are feeling blocked and miss inspiration, there’s a skill that can help you out of that creative rut. Adobe has revealed the first-ever Amazon Alexa Skill aimed at creative burnout. It’s aimed at artists, photographers, and other creatives who have fallen into a rut and need a little boost to get those creative juices flowing.
As you can see, voice assistants are the most caring beings — they keep you healthy, safe, and happy, they help you with everyday routine, they monitor your concentration while driving, they enhance the usability of your home, and many many other things we should be thankful for.
